How to Dry Brush the Skin
- Purchase a natural bristle brush, not synthetic. “Tampico” dry skin brush from “Yerba Prima” is one of the best. This brush comes with a long handle so you are able to reach the areas you need to.
- Brush your skin while it’s dry before showering or bathing , at least once per day and twice if possible.
- Apply lighter strokes over and around the breasts and do not brush the nipples. Also , use light pressure in areas where the skin is thin and harder pressure on places like the soles of the feet.
- Avoid sensitive areas and anywhere the skin is broken , such as rashes , wounds , cuts and infections. And never brush skin affected by poison oak or poison ivy.
- Start with the soles of the feet and work your way up the ankles and calves with about 3-5 strokes on each section of skin. Move up to the thighs , buttocks , torso , then brush arms from hands to elbows, then elbows to shoulders. Use the dry skin brush with the handle to reach your back , and always brush toward the heart.
- Take a warm shower with soap , which is followed by a cool rinse at the end, to stimulate further blood circulation.
- Please wash your brush at least once per week with soap and water and allow to dry.
